Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in this country, with
approximately one million Americans developing it each year. City of
Hope, a member charity of Community Health Charities, combines advanced
diagnostics, aggressive, new treatments and the expertise of a closely
coordinated group of specialists to provide the latest in care for
patients with different types of skin cancer, including melanoma.
The survival rate for patients with melanoma depends upon when they
start treatment. The cure rate is very high when melanoma is detected in
early stages, when it can easily be removed surgically.
